I'm a backend engineer at Elum Energy. I came to software the long way round: seven years in wind energy operations first, then a switch to development in January 2020.
These days I work on the embedded systems that run hybrid solar plants: real-time control in C++, the Python services around it, and whatever tooling keeps the codebase sane to work in.
Off the clock I'm learning Rust by building ruxe, a small Redux-inspired state-management library, and I keep a few Python tools running for myself like budget-forecaster. I write some of it up on my blog.
I've also shipped an LLM pipeline at work, and I lean on AI coding tools enough that I built my own config manager for them (claude-nexus).
Mostly: Python · C++17 · MQTT · SQLite · Linux · GitLab CI Also: Rust · Docker
Away from a screen I cook (I've got a cooking certificate and even worked in kitchens before I ever wrote code) and shoot street photography. I'm also a nostalgic gamer on indefinite pause thanks to a young family, but I haven't given up on getting back to it one day.
